Board certified through the Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in the state of Arizona, family nurse practitioner Megan Ahmed founded Desert Sage Dermatology in 2020 to get away from the assembly line type of appointments to spend more time educating patients about medical and cosmetic dermatology. Megan received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from prestigious colleges in her native Ohio. She began her career as a registered nurse at the medical intensive care unit (MICU) at the Cleveland Clinic where she earned her critical-care registered nurse certification (CCRN) and desired to further her education. Later, she relocated to sunny Phoenix, AZ and worked in a post-anesthesia care unit. Megan, a mother of two, is passionate about educating her patients on sun safety and the prevention of skin cancer.
Megan’s passion for healthy skin began in the ICU while caring for critically-ill patients with pressure ulcers and non-healing surgical wounds. This passion grew to a love for overall skin health and aesthetic treatments that result in natural enhancements
An Ohio native, Megan received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating cum laude from Ursuline College. After finishing her degree in nursing, Megan worked in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) at Cleveland Clinic. Several years later, she continued her education and obtained her Master of Science in nursing at the University of Cincinnati earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She is now board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in the state of Arizona. Megan opened Desert Sage Dermatology to create an inclusive clinic environment where individuals can begin their path to healthy skin at any age. She is an expert in acne, melasma, eczema, and rosacea treatments, cosmetic injections, PRP therapy for hair loss, and laser solutions.
Megan works with her patients to create customized treatments that might include both medical and aesthetic techniques. Her goal is to improve the health of your skin and your overall confidence. Megan values the importance of prevention and dedication in regards to one’s skincare routine – both concepts are essential to achieving healthy skin. She is a strong advocate for recognizing that it is never too late to make positive changes in your skincare ritual.
In addition to practicing at Desert Sage, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, Sar, and daughters, Brynn, and Maya, reading, online shopping (what’s better than shopping from the couch in your pj’s), and testing out new recipes.

Megan is the best derm I have been to. She gets you in and out, you never wait more than 5-10 mins. She’s very knowledgeable and knows how to relate. Megan is super easy to talk to and you can get into to see her within the week. She’s wonderful. Would highly recommend. My skin was horrible and now it’s just about flawless.
